Privacy Notice for Events

America for Bulgaria Foundation (ABF) is committed to protecting personal data in line with applicable national and European legislation for personal data protection.
This privacy notice provides information regarding processing by ABF of personal data of individuals (“you”) who register, attend and/or otherwise participate in an event organized by ABF. For purposes of this privacy notice, “event” includes any conference, webinar, forum, seminar, training, workshop or other gathering, whether taking place virtually or in-person, irrespective of the location of the event.
How do we use your data?
By registering for a specific event, you agree to ABF’s processing of the personal data you provide as part of registration for the following purposes:
- to communicate with you regarding the specific event for which you registered;
- for our internal reporting and analysis purposes;
- as reasonably necessary for the management, organization and conduct of the specific event for which you registered and securing your participation in it;
- for inviting you to participate in survey for the purposes of receiving feedback related to the specific event;
- for any other purpose to which you have explicitly consented in connection with the specific event.
By registering for a specific event, you acknowledge that ABF may disclose the personal data you submit as part of registration to:
- ticketing and registration platforms, third-party service providers assisting ABF with the specific event, subject to contractually agreed conditions of confidentiality and security, e.g. for the purposes of accommodation, catering, security, etc.;
- co-organizers, if any, of the event as reasonably necessary for the management, organization and conduct of the specific event for which you registered;
- other third-parties for which you have granted your consent for disclosure in connection with the specific event.
Audio and Visual Recording; Live Streaming
Depending on the concept of the specific event photographs and/or audio-visual footage may be taken and/or live streamed during or as part of an ABF event. Photos and videos can be published on ABF’s official website, www.us4bg.org, and/or social media channels (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, Vimeo) as well as on the co-organizer’s communication channels, if applicable. Photos and videos may also be recorded and can be reproduced in various media including ABF publications, electronic newsletter, social networks, etc. in connection with a specific event, for promotional purposes. Each social media platform has its own privacy policy which you may find on its website. By attending an ABF organized (or co-organized) event, you acknowledge, and you are aware that you may appear in published photos and/or videos as stated above, unless you have objected to this by notifying the organizer.
How do we store your data?
ABF keep personal data for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this privacy notice pursuant to its retention policy and terms as well as in accordance with the applicable regulatory and legal requirements.
Your rights as a data subject and how to contact us
You have the right to access your personal data, the right to correct it, to restrict its processing, the right to object to its processing for certain purposes, the right to request from us to delete your data. If you have granted us your explicit consent for certain type of processing of your personal information, you may withdraw it at any time without this withdrawal affecting the lawfulness of processing before the withdrawal.
