The US Secret Service Director, Mark Sullivan; the Deputy Assistant Director of US Secret Service, Jeffrey Irvine; the Assistant Director of the Criminal, Cyber, Response and Services Branch of FBI, Shawn Henry, named as one of the most influential people in security by Security Magazine in December 2010; as cybercrime fighter of the year by McAfee Inc., in April 2010; and as one of the top industry pioneers who have shaped the information security industry by SC Magazine in November 2009 are among the speakers at the first Southeast European Regional Conference on Cybersecurity and Cybercrime. They will share their experience in combating cybercrime and Mr. Henry will join through a live video-conference.
The Regional Conference on Cybersecurity and Cybercrime is the first of its kind forum that gathers representatives of leading ICT companies, financial institutions, and NGOs with senior law enforcement officers from Southeast Europe, the US, Russia and Ukraine engaged in countering organized crime and in particular – of cybercrime.
Organizers of the event are the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Bulgaria though its Computer Crime, Intellectual Property and Gambling Department and the International Cyber Investigation Training Academy established with the financial support of the America for Bulgaria Foundation.
During the three-day forum, companies and organizations will present recent solutions and best practices in the area of cyber security and cybercrime combating. Among the participants in the forum are the International Agency for Crime Prevention and Security Policies, Max Telecom – a leading Bulgarian telecoms company, RSA of the United States – the Security Division of EMC, a premier provider of security, risk and compliance solutions, Microsoft, Ceragon, Facebook, Hi Computers, New Horizons, UniCredit Bulbank and others.
