Dalmatian Pelican Festival

The grant will support the first edition of the Dalmatian Pelican Festival in Belene. Dalmatian pelicans used to live in the territory of Persina National Park for 70 years. Because of human interference, Pelicans disappeared for many years, but due to the hard work of several partnering organizations, there are now three colonies of the Dalmatian pelican nesting in the country. The festival will celebrate the return of the pelicans to Persin Island.
