Dear Friends,
We love the story of the lone entrepreneur: the visionary with the big idea, the courage to chase it, and the grit to make it happen against all odds.
But real life rarely works that way.
Behind every success story is a web of people. Someone offered a timely piece of advice. Someone shared hard-earned experience. Someone extended a hand, made an introduction, opened a door, or simply believed in an idea before anyone else did.
Those are the people you’ll meet in this issue.
Mentors who spend their evenings helping high school students shape their first business ideas. Companies that support causes and, after a single day of volunteering, leave behind freshly painted walls, restored community spaces, cleaner parks, and people energized to keep doing good. Communities in the Pleven region connecting small family businesses with travelers from near and far. And teams using technology to make history more vivid and accessible for the next generation.
Each of them is part of the network that helps good ideas travel further.
Because in life, just like in entrepreneurship, no one succeeds alone.

A Jungle in Pleven? Welcome to The North, Up Close
Few people would put the words jungle and Pleven in the same sentence.
And yet, between Belene and Nikopol, the Danube winds past islands tangled with vines and riverside forests.
In our new series The North, Up Close, each month we’ll take you to a different corner of Northern Bulgaria—meeting the people, places, and stories that rarely make it into the headlines.
We begin in the Pleven region: a Roman city hidden under grass, a water lily farm by the roadside, and a cycling route that links dozens of small stories along the Danube.
Take a closer look at Pleven.
