Once on each 5 years, in August, Koprivshtitsa hosts a large international folklore event – the Koprivshtitsa National Folklore Assembly. This year, August 7-9 is the Assembly’s 11-th edition. Singers, dancers, musicians, craftsmen and ritual performers show authentic Bulgarian folklore. Over 15,000 participants from all over Bulgaria and the world as well as over 200,000 tourists attend this event. In addition to local participants, groups from Norway, Japan, The Netherlands, UK, USA, Sweden and the Balkan countries perform at the assembly.
