Тhe ABF grant will help support the development of the Vratsa Software Community established by the Vratsa Software Academy over the next three years. The grant allows the Academy to continue offering free nine-month training courses in programming to both employed and unemployed adults and students. The Vratsa Software Academy is one of six European organizations which received a Google grant in 2016. The ABF grant will also support the organization of various IT events in Vratsa, including the biggest programming event in Northwestern Bulgaria—CodeWeek Vratsa, part of EU Code Week. There are no age restrictions for CodeWeek participants: from elementary school students to mature adults, citizens of Vratsa and the region are introduced to programming topics and the wealth of opportunities offered by the IT sector.
