This grant is to support the Arts for Children project, managed by Dedal Art School Association. The mission of Dedal is to provide free art classes to children from disadvantaged backgrounds in order to help them develop their skills and talents and thereby overcome their social isolation. The America for Bulgaria Foundation has supported Dedal since 2010, and, so far, 900 children have benefited from the art school’s programs. As of 2018, Dedal has a library, a large gallery hall, a recording studio, and a sculpture studio. In 2018-2019, an additional 120 children from Varna will have the opportunity to attend five workshops, in fine arts, contemporary art, graphic and web design, photography and cinematography, and drums. Fifteen students will receive assistance in preparing their art school applications.
