Organization Drom has been implementing desegregation and education programs in the Vidin municipality for the past 10 years and has achieved a considerable level of success. More than 400 children participate annually in program activities. The majority of participants have increased their attendance and achieved higher grades. The number of children that have left the Roma school to study in mainstream schools has also risen dramatically. Organization Drom now wants to use the lessons they have learned to expand their work throughout the region by implementing program activities in five new locations in the Vidin district: Dimovo, Kula, Bregovo, Archar, and Belogradchik and by increasing the number of children involved to 1200. This three year project includes a variety of activities intended to boost school performance and graduation rates among Roma pupils and to promote an integrated educational environment.
