As a result of an initiative, supported by ABF – The International Glass Festival which took place in October 2010, the National School of Applied Arts in Sofia submitted an application with the Ministry of Education to approve a glass major. Although Bulgaria has traditions in glass production and processing, there is currently no high-school education in glass. ABF’s grant will be used to renovate a hall in the school and furbish it into a Glass Art Atelier.
