Each year, the Research Science Institute (RSI) gathers approximately 80 of the world’s most accomplished high school students in the fields of mathematics and the sciences for an intensive six-week summer research program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). The RSI is a combination of intensive science classes and research projects, with mentorship from Nobel Laureates and professors from the MIT. Bulgaria has been awarded two of the slots for international students for the past 13 years. The Bulgarian participants are selected based on their year-round research projects, presentations, interviews, leadership and service, as well as extracurricular talents.
