What is CITE?

Can small communities transform the face of tourism in Bulgaria?
How can collaboration create unforgettable experiences for travelers?
What draws visitors to certain destinations?

The Community Impact Tourism Exchange (CITE), organized by the America for Bulgaria Foundation, is Bulgaria’s first community-led tourism gathering. The event brings together tourism entrepreneurs, tour operators, travel agencies, local authorities, tourism organizations, storytellers, and travel journalists to explore how communities can shape the future of sustainable tourism.

Over two days, participants engage with inspiring stories, successful case studies, and hands-on workshops designed to empower local tourism initiatives. CITE is more than just an event—it is a platform for collaboration, where ideas turn into action and local economies thrive.

CITE fosters a shared vision for destination development through cooperation. By uniting diverse tourism stakeholders, the event highlights ways to strengthen local economies, increase destination visibility, and create long-term benefits for communities and visitors alike.
