The purpose of the festival is to revive the glass art tradition Bulgaria had in the past. The organizers hope this initiative will provoke a re-opening of a glass-art class at the National School for Applied Arts. The International Glass festival will be a biennal event which will include an exhibition of glass art by 20 European and 10 Bulgarian glass artists; series of lectures and demonstrations of making of glass to students at the National School of Applied Arts in Sofia.
