The America for Bulgaria Foundation in association with the World Press Institute is offering an exciting opportunity for an early- to mid-career Bulgarian journalist with more than five years of professional experience to take up a media fellowship in the United States in August–October 2020.
The program is open to journalists and photojournalists from newspapers, newsmagazines, wire services, radio, television, and online news organizations. Applicants must be available to travel for nine weeks starting mid-August 2020, be Bulgarian citizens, and have permanent residency in Bulgaria.
The recipient of the America for Bulgaria/World Press Institute Media Fellowship will join a group of ten World Press Institute Fellows from around the world. The fellowship program provides immersion into the governance, politics, business, media, journalistic ethics, and culture of the United States through a demanding schedule of study, travel, and interviews.
The program is based at the World Press Institute in Minneapolis–Saint Paul, Minnesota, with trips to Washington, DC, New York, and other major US cities.
The award covers travel, accommodation, and per diem for meals. Applications close Thursday, February 20, 2020. The name of the selected fellow will be announced in early May.
