Would-be chefs from the Bulgarian towns of Razgrad and Gabrovo will face off in two culinary events this November for a chance to earn scholarships for training at the prestigious HRC Culinary Academy in Sofia. The finalists will be drawn from a pool of applicants who submitted favorite recipes along with photos, videos, and preparation instructions. A jury of HRC professors will select the scholarship winners and invite the best cooks to prepare their winning recipes in front of a live audience. The jury members—chefs with experience at some of the best restaurants and hotels in the world including Henri Donneaux (Belgium), Hugues Boutin (Canada), Milen Zlatev (Bulgaria), and Viktor Svetoslavov (Bulgaria)—will do a cooking demo to introduce viewers and participants to the world of professional gastronomy.
Financed by the America for Bulgaria Foundation, the scholarships are a good opportunity for young people looking to stay and find employment in their hometowns to learn the craft from top professionals in the field in just a few months.
We cannot wait to see what they will cook up!
Razgrad: November 18, 2pm, Cartoon Hotel, 15 Zheravna St.
