Raina Kabaivanska is one of the greatest Bulgarian opera singers. She is currently a professor at the Orazio Vecchi Academy in Modena, Italy. For over 15 years now she has been coming to Bulgaria to teach young and prospective students at her master classes which are carried out through the Raina Kabaivanska Fund at the New Bulgarian University (NBU). Since 2009, ABF has been supporting the project each year with money to pay stipends to talented opera students at NBU. In 2015, the master class will take place September 7 – 27 at the Sofia Opera House, with a closing gala on September 27. The deadline for students to apply with the program is September 7. This project fits in ABF’s “Support Education in the Arts” priority, as it helps improve the professional education of opera singers and gives them a stage to perform.
