Metropolitan Opera Live - 2015-2016
Varna Summer International Theater Festival Foundation (VSITF)

This grant is to support a second season of Metropolitan Opera Live in Sofia. The season in 2015-2016 includes 10 live broadcasts from New York at Cinema City Sofia on several Saturdays throughout the season and 6 preliminary announced encores. All broadcasts will be performed in the original language of the opera and subtitled in Bulgarian and English. The first performance is on October 03 - „Il Trovatore” by Giuseppe Verdi, featuring star soprano Anna Netrebko. The full program of the season can be found on VSITF’s website. The project fits one of the key priorities of ABF’s Arts and Culture strategy: to introduce and popularize quality American art to the Bulgarian audience.
