Institute of International Education

USD 2,136,850

This seventh consecutive edition of the Bulgarian Young Leaders Program (2015) will include 4 components: 1) Summer Entrepreneurship Program (SEP): This custom-designed program provides 30 talented undergraduate and graduate students with five weeks of training in entrepreneurship and leadership development in the United States. 2) Junior Justice Professionals Training Program (JJPTP): The program will be conducted with a group of 21 young Bulgarian attorneys, prosecutors, and judges (with under 10 years of professional experience). The program includes a U.S.-based professional training with visits to three cities, each tied to a specific training module. 3) Education Leaders’ Training Program (ELTP): This component involves 15 secondary school teachers. The educators travel to the U.S. for a dynamic three-week training program, including academic sessions, followed by a practicum at New York City schools. 4) Principals Training Program (PTP): The program includes two stages: 1) a week-long Bulgarian seminar for 30 principals from around the country and 2) an exchange program in the United States for the 15 participants who submit the most rigorous School Innovation Plans. The purpose of the program is to identify and develop young Bulgarian entrepreneurs, civil service professionals, and educators with the potential to assume positions of leadership and contribute to the prosperity of the country.
