The Advanced Academia Project 2016-2019 continues the support that ABF has been providing to the academic research community of Bulgaria since 2009. It contributes to the professional development of promising young and outstanding senior Bulgarian scholars in the Social Sciences and Humanities by providing independent research fellowships in a trans-disciplinary international environment. A total of 24 fellows will participate in the program. Each scholar will receive a fellowship for 5 months (1 academic semester). The scholars work with their international colleagues, present and discuss their research with other CAS Fellows coming from different disciplinary and academic cultures, and participate in open public discussions.
Knowledge is disseminated by means of publishing the final papers in English of CAS fellows (50 pages) in the CAS Working Paper Series. Information about the results will be also available on CAS website, the Academic Gateway (www.gate.cas.bg), and the Online Distribution Platform for eBooks (DiBiDo) of the Central and Eastern European Online Library (C.E.E.O.L). In addition, up to two volumes will be published in Bulgarian annually focusing on some of the most interesting research topics.

The grant also provides for a limited support for the organization to help CAS with its sustainability in the future.
