Bulgarian Agriculture Leadership Program
Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service

USD 250,000

When was the last time you heard parents advise their children to take up farming? Rarely, or perhaps never?

Sadly, even at the beginning of the 21st century, most of our society still does not understand agriculture and considers it an occupation that lacks prospects and is outdated. But nothing could be further from the truth - agriculture is among the most exciting and promising sectors both global and locally.

America for Bulgaria Foundation sincerely believes that Bulgaria has huge potential to become a European leader in the field of agriculture. But only professionals with long-term vision can take Bulgaria there. ABF seeks out and invests in those who are working to develop modern and competitive agriculture in our country.

In 2017, we are once again giving an opportunity to 16 Bulgarian professionals to take part in two intensive group training sessions in the US for two weeks. They will meet their colleagues from the sector and will participate in field observations and visits, attend university courses and seminars, as well as agricultural conferences, exhibitions or conventions. This will increase not only their knowledge and skills, but will also bring practical ideas to improve implementation in Bulgaria practices.

This year, farmers, managers, technicians, scientists, teachers and administrators in the field of dairy cattle and local production and processing can apply. Participants are selected after an open competition and a personal interview with each candidate by the Bulgarian and international experts in the field of agriculture.

We are performing technical maintenance on our website and the project database will not be accessible until 4 pm today.
