Тhere is a special bond between the Danube and classical music. Is it because the river caresses the shores of Vienna, one of the European capitals of classical music? Or because one of its greatest composers portrays it in one of the world's most popular waltzes? – we do not know.
But one thing is certain - the Danube managed to bring the love of classical music to the banks of Little Vienna, as Rousse's residents and visitors often call the city.
So this summer, classical music will sound on the banks of the Danube. With great pleasure, America for Bulgarian Foundation is supporting the fourth Allegra International Summer Academy in Rousse from June 13 to 24, which will include master classes and free concerts for the Rousse public.
During the 10 days of the academy, students and young professionals in classical music from all over the world will improve their skills for music in six master classes with world-renowned musicians and conductors. These include piano and piano duos with Genova and Dimitrov (Bulgaria), Violin with Xiaoming Wang (Switzerland), Clarinet with Fabio di Casola (Switzerland), Cello with Peter Somodari (Austria), Guitar with Andreas von Wangenheim (The Netherlands) and Choral Conducting with Denis Rouger (France).
The deadline for applications is May 10, 2017. There are 15 scholarships for Bulgarian participants.
We are performing technical maintenance on our website and the project database will not be accessible until 4 pm today.
