You think that classical music is for old ladies with feathered hats? Think again. We have nothing against hats with feathers or old ladies, but it's time to say goodbye to this outmoded understanding of classical music.

This is exactly what Young Virtuosos Foundation is doing. In its 13 year history, the Young Virtuosos International Competition is the largest and the most important music contest in Bulgaria. The event provides great opportunities for music students to meet and show their talents. The first competition was in 2005 and America for Bulgaria Foundation has been supporting the project since 2010.

Over 300 students from around the world were candidates in the four categories at this year's competition. Thus, from March 30 to April 8, we had the opportunity to hear some of the future world stars of the violin, cello, flute and clarinet in the halls of the National School of Music in Sofia and Bulgaria Hall.
