This grant is to support the fourth season of Metropolitan Opera Live to be broadcast in Sofia with some of the performances shown in Varna, Plovdiv and Ruse. The season in 2017/18 is also very notable for Bulgaria. For the first time in the history of Met Live, a singer has a leading role in three of the ten performances. Sonya Yoncheva will sing in Tosca, La Bohème and Luisa Miller. As usual, the program includes ten live broadcasts from New York in one of the halls of Cinema City Sofia on several Saturdays and five preliminary announced encores to be screened during weekdays.
