Fine Art for Children 2018
Dedal Art School for Disadvantaged Children Association
BGN 15,000
This grant supports workshops for children in fine arts, cinematography and photography, web and graphic design, and contemporary art. In addition to the workshops, whose capacity is 100 children, every year artists from Dedal assist around 20 students with portfolio preparation for their art school applications. Dedal’s activities are constantly expanding, and since 2015, the association has hosted the Quarantine, a film festival for young filmmakers, held in the Fisherman's Village in Varna. The idea for an art school was born in 2009 when eight Varna artists selected 30 disadvantaged children and started giving them arts classes in their studio downtown. The project had a great psychological effect on the children, enabling them to express themselves freely and work in a quiet, friendly atmosphere. Dedal teaches children to appreciate art and helps them develop social skills and a taste for fine art and music. Dedal is not just an extracurricular activity—it is a club where talented kids receive support and understanding.
We are performing technical maintenance on our website and the project database will not be accessible until 4 pm today.
