Non-profit Association "School Council at the High School of Mathematics and Natural Sciences “Acad. Nikola Obreshkov”"
BGN 8,000
The students of two Bulgarian high schools, Dr. Petar Beron Mathematics High School in Varna, the Acad. Nikola Obreshkov High School of Science and Mathematics in Burgas, were once again invited to take part in the exclusive Harvard-MIT Mathematics Tournament. The two schools will unite forces in a joint team of eight students to represent Bulgaria in the prestigious competition. The America for Bulgaria Foundation supports the joint team’s participation in the competition. The HMMT is a highly competitive annual mathematics tournament for high school students jointly organized by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Harvard University. Only a small number of select international teams are invited to participate each year, making the Bulgarian teams’ selection particularly notable. The tournament gathers 800 students with excellent track records from international math competitions. Last year, the two schools’ joint team earned the prestigious twelfth place in the team round of the competition, running against 90 teams from the US and the world.
