“Prolet” Kindergarten

This summer program was submitted by a kindergarten in Samokov’s Roma neighborhood. The main objective was to help lay the groundwork for Bulgarian language acquisition for 22 children aged 3-6 from economically disadvantaged families. The summer program included a language diagnostic test, educational games and activities, and several field trips to award participation. By utilizing the summer months to focus on their most disadvantaged children, these teachers were able to give program participants the tools they needed to succeed in their next year of education.
