This grant is to support Aniventure Comic Con, a manga and anime convention drawing thousands of visitors every year. Aniventure Comic Con was launched by a group of young creative entrepreneurs, and from a small gathering of 700 anime and manga culture fans back in 2006, the convention expanded to accommodate 25,000 visitors in 2018. The ABF grant will help bring American comic artists to the 2019 convention.
