Creating a Model for Decreasing the Drop-out Rate Among Roma Children

During this summer project, Amalipe invited teachers that are implementing its free elective folklore and culture class to participate in a creative workshop. During this workshop, teachers shared best practices and provided suggestions on creating a model to lower the drop-out rate of Roma children. Based on these teachers’ suggestions, a platform was created, which Amalipe published and then used to create a more comprehensive, three year program. New pedagogical materials were also prepared, and another, new cadre of teachers was trained to implement the folklore and culture free elective class.
