ACHANGE - Boosting Up Teaching Capacity and Exchange Activities between Leading Bulgarian and US Academic Institutions
Agricultural University - Plovdiv

BGN 121,000

The ambition and main purpose of the ACHANGE project is to enhance one of the existing Master degree courses in agribusiness management offered by the Agricultural University – Plovdiv (AUP) with an entrepreneurship module and increase the teaching capacity of Bulgarian faculties to deliver practical and applied knowledge in a modern way. The new Master degree course will be called Agribusiness Management and Entrepreneurship, and involves partnership with another Bulgarian academic institution – the Institute of Agricultural Economics (IAE) and the College of Agriculture, Food and National Resources (CAFNR) within the University of Missouri (MU). The new module will consist of 4 new classes in: Analysis of agricultural and rural policy; Agribusiness management; Management and organization of innovations; Marketing of new products, which are all found deficient in the current curriculum but clearly identified as important and needed by AUP faculties and former students. The syllabus of the classes will be prepared by leading professors from the MU and delivered to the students jointly in pairs consisting of professors from MU and Bulgarian counterparts from the AUP and IAE. The project envisages also a tailor-made study tour to the MU in the US for the best 10 graduates as well as organizing an international summer school focused on studies for economies in transition and the Common Agricultural Policy of the EU.
