Last year, Vratsa Trails received funding from ABF’s Developing Tourism in Northwest Bulgaria RFP for the purchase of equipment to clean and maintain 20 mountain biking trails located in the Vratsa Balkan Park. Over two years, the organization created GPS tracking for the trails, including them in the biggest international mountain biking platform, and organized an array of events and tours, attracting more than 2,000 tourists to the region. The current grant will fund the creation of a pump track for beginners (2,000 sq.m.) and a new trail center (container) in Zgorigrad village, close to Vratsa. These improvements will help position the region as a mountain biking destination.
