The purpose of this micro-grant is to support the operations of a new makerspace at the Sofia Tech Park, Sofia Creation Station (SCS), by sponsoring different membership packages, courses, services, and consumables for high school and university students. Sofia Creation Station is a community-operated not-for-profit makerspace whose main mission is to serve the needs of makers, engineers, tech geeks, and do-it-yourself enthusiasts. SCS provides technical equipment, consumables, a supporting team, a community of other makers, and a learning environment in which every person can acquire, improve, and master new technical skills to successfully develop hardware prototypes and invent new products. SCS will also organize theoretical and practical courses, scientific fairs, competitions, community development events, and collaborative initiatives with other makerspaces and hardware clubs.
