The Diverse and Equal Association is implementing a 12 month program that aims to increase the number of Roma children that successfully complete junior high and enroll in high school. They are focusing their efforts on three schools in the Sofia region — Botevgrad, Novachene, and Skravena. The organization has selected 60 pupils that are completing the 6th-7th grade and is providing them with preparatory classes for high school entrance exams. These classes will last for eight months. The organization is also acting as a resource for pupils by collecting information about professional schools and popularizing this information among pupils, their parents, and friends. By working with parents and pupils, offering motivational incentives and field trips, and guiding pupils through the registration and application process, the organization aims to succeed in enrolling at least 75% of the total participants (45 Roma pupils) in high school.
