Decreasing the Dropout Rate Among Roma Children
Amalipe Center for Intercultural Dialogue and Tolerance
BGN 1,071,400
Amalipe developed this program with the input of teachers and educational experts across the country, who have participated in their Roma culture and folklore class. The program seeks to deepen and widen its intercultural (SIP) program and to measure how it can help increase the attendance of Roma children in school. The program will draw on its informal network of teachers to conduct peer training. In the first year, 10 mentoring schools will be matched with 20 pilot schools. The number of pilot schools will increase to 60 in the second year and 120 in the third. The program also envisions competitions among schools for small grants, workshops and mentorship opportunities, the creation of new classroom tools and resources, and the sharing of best practices between schools.
We are performing technical maintenance on our website and the project database will not be accessible until 4 pm today.
