This project builds upon and further develops the interest in astronomy demonstrated by the students at the school. ABF funding will buy contemporary equipment for practical work in astronomy and physics. The new computerized telescope and the CCD camera give the opportunity to the students to work with software for image editing when monitoring space objects. A sundial will be installed in the school yard and used during the practical lessons in physics. The students will be responsible for the maintenance of the sundial and the flower decorations surrounding it. Finally, the new equipment will be the centerpiece of the fall Astro event that the school organizes for a second year in partnership with the municipality and the participation of students from the entire Montana region. The school will contribute additional BGN 1,690 to the project and the municipality will secure another BGN 400.
