The Association “Forum for Civil Initiatives and Democratic Society” is implementing this project in partnership with a kindergarten in “Iztok”, a predominantly Roma neighborhood outside Dimitrovgrad. A high percent of children living in Iztok do not attend kindergarten. The project aims to provide kindergarten lessons to 40 economically disadvantaged children aged 5 and 6 who would not otherwise attend kindergarten. The program will also include 10 children who are already enrolled, but need some extra assistance in Bulgarian language. They also intend to continue long-term monitoring of the children, to observe the number to finish the 8th grade. Their hope is that a majority of project participants will do so.
