This proposal is aimed at founding the first of its kind National Center for Professional Training and Competence, which will provide complete services in the livestock sector, covering dairy-cattle breeding, sheep-breeding, goat-breeding and water-buffalos breeding. This Center is planned to become a one-stop-shop where producers and various agricultural professionals will be able to work with the best specialists in the country and abroad, and find all the expertise needed at one place. It will be an autonomous structure to the Trakia University that will be able to generate revenues and operate independently in the long run.
The structure of the Center is planned as follows:
- Extension Services Unit – to provide professional advice and expertise in animal husbandry.
- Practical Trainings and Increase of Qualification Unit – to carry out specialized training courses for modern production practices and increase of professional qualification that will serve both private sector and students.
- Career Development Unit – to link graduating students with the business; organize job fairs; find hosts for internships; assist students in their job search and interview process, preparation of application documents, career consulting, etc.
- Agricultural Policies, Economic and Analysis Research Unit – to elaborate market research and analysis (of supply and demand, local market, purchase prices of milk, meat, live animals, forages, etc.), as well as work with all stakeholders in the development of various agricultural policies.
