BGN 55,000

Bulgaria is joining the Spelling Bee world family by organizing the First Bulgarian National English Spelling Bee adapting it from its original American roots. The goal is to promote general language improvement in the use of the English language for Bulgarian students in order to increase the competitiveness of young people who will participate and represent Bulgaria in the global workforce. More than 2,500 students aged 9-13 will participate in the competition going through three sequential levels that culminate with a national spelling bee competition in Sofia. With the assistance of the Peace Corps volunteers, local competitions will start in more than 60 schools all over the country in late March. Six regional competitions will send out the best 20 kids to the national final in May in Sofia. All participants at each of the competition rounds will be recognized for their courage to be the Spelling Bee pioneers, but the WINNER will be only one. The Spelling Bee competition in Bulgaria will continue in the years to come while increasing number of participants.
