The Students Institute in Mathematics and Informatics (SIMI) is a successful initiative that develops the talent of young Bulgarian mathematicians. America for Bulgaria Foundation will support the activities of SIMI in attracting and motivating high school students (8th through 12th grade) for participation in inquiry based learning throughout the year under the scientific mentorship of teachers, university professors, and leading Bulgarian scientists. Lectures and seminars by top-notch researchers, professors and teachers will expose the students to some of the latest developments in mathematics and informatics. Under the mentorship of their professors, the students will work on research projects and will report their results at national scientific conferences. Each year, 40 students, selected based on their research projects, will participate at the summer research schools and seminars. The projects also allows two Bulgarians to participate at the prestigious 6-week Research Summer Institute at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the U.S. This is a unique opportunity for young Bulgarians to be exposed to the best international practices in developing the future scientists and researchers of the world.
We are performing technical maintenance on our website and the project database will not be accessible until 4 pm today.
