This project will create new environment at the school by using contemporary technologies and teaching methods focusing on learning by doing and extensive application of visual and interactive tools. This will be achieved by the establishment of a Natural and Social Sciences Center with laboratories in biology, chemistry, geography and economics, and an arts cabinet. The project will include the following activities: 1) A major renovation of the premises that will accommodate the Center; (2) Furnishing and equipping the new laboratories and the arts cabinet with computers, multimedia, interactive white boards, kits for practical work, microscopes, and demonstration materials necessary for the contemporary education of the students; (3) Active utilization of the renovated premises throughout the school year for: applying interactive teaching methods during regular classes in chemistry, biology, geography, and arts; competition among students in biology and chemistry; seminars for teachers from the region on interactive teaching methods; work with the pedagogical departments of the universities in Sofia and offering the Center as a venue for the practical training of future Bulgarian teachers. The Natural and Social Sciences Center will facilitate the learning process of the students, stimulate their creativity, and will improve the quality of education.
