In order to facilitate the movement of promising young Roma into the private sector, ABF is partnering for a second year with OSI Sofia to implement an internship program that links Bulgaria’s brightest and most motivated Roma with top employers. After submitting an application, potential candidates are selected according to their academic achievement, written references, community service track record, and background in a suitable field of study. 20 candidates will be selected to participate in a three month internship and corresponding educational program. This program seeks to boost the professional skills and career development of promising Roma. The ultimate hope is that a significant number will receive long-term employment, either with their internship host or with another, professional employer.
