FISI is a two-week academic and cultural program that offers intensive interdisciplinary and trans-disciplinary courses in various subject areas such as economics, finance , management sociology, cultural studies, the humanities, and arts. All courses are taught in English by distinguished professors from Bulgaria, the U.S., and Europe. The program targets undergraduate and graduate students, teachers, junior university faculty, and researchers. In the next three years, FISI will continue to attract some 100 participants annually and through exchange of knowledge, expertise, skills and values will promote international education and intercultural communication. FISI will contribute to the improvement of the quality of Bulgarian education by creating the worldwide academic environment that Bulgarian students have been able to experience only if studying abroad. The next three issues of the summer institute will offer predominantly graduate level team-taught credit-bearing courses that are part of accredited graduate programs taught at Bulgarian, US and European universities. Preference will be given to candidates who are enrolled in regular master’s and doctoral programs. One of the ambitious goals of the program is to establish academic and research partnerships among international faculty that ultimately will lead to joint graduate level programs and degrees.
We are performing technical maintenance on our website and the project database will not be accessible until 4 pm today.
