As part of ABF’s strategy to promote the Bulgarian-American cultural exchange, we support So Independent Film Festival in Sofia and the Bulgarian Film Festival in New York for a third consecutive year. So Independent takes place in the first week of November and presents independent films, documentaries and short-film series to the Bulgarian audience. So Independent has turned into one of the most successful film festivals in Bulgaria and is one of ABF’s signature events. The Bulgarian Film Festival in New York was founded in 2002 and ABF supported its editions in 2011 and 2012. Each year, over 2,000 people have the opportunity to watch the most recent Bulgarian films and meet with some of the film-makers.
