The project addresses the existing issues in using technologies in the teaching process and equips the school with contemporary solutions that would result in modernizing the educational process. In order to achieve this, the school will establish a Center for Contemporary Education (the Center). All 9 classrooms of the Center will be equipped with laptops, multimedia, and interactive white boards. The new hardware and software will provide access to all available tools for a modern teaching process. Six of the premises will be classrooms where science and language lessons will take place. One room will host the resource center where teachers will prepare for classes and some of the visual aids will be kept. Two premises will function as specialized computer laboratories with 15 working stations each, connected in a network with a server. The renovated computer labs will be accessible by some 200 kids at the school who do not have computer or Internet access at home. The Center will allow the use of the gaining popularity in Bulgaria MOODLE platform that will offer interactive teaching methods, will introduce on-line testing and will afford real time communication between teachers and students. The school will contribute additional BGN 50,233 to the project implementation.
