The project encompasses establishment of an integrated system for plant protection at the Agricultural University – Plovdiv through a modernly equipped Experimental field where sophisticated agricultural techniques and solutions can be tested and demonstrated to farmers and various interested parties, as well as extending advanced knowledge to innovative producers by carrying out trials in real life conditions on couple of satellite privately owned farms. It foresees collaboration with two highly-recognized international institutions – Cornell University, USA and the National Research Institute of Norway – Bioforsk, along with a number of private Bulgarian vineyards and apple orchards. The project will also provide an opportunity for many young researchers, students and agronomists to work along with well-known and highly-recognized scientists and crop specialists using cutting-edge methods and technology.
