The grant aims at mobilizing the local resources for community development in the Devetaki Plateau region. Civic discussions will be staged in the Devetaki villages at which ideas for local advance will be worked out and submitted to a ‘Community Development Fund’ for modest seed funding. These small projects may vary in detail, but the common goal will be to further the Devetaki Plateau tourist potential by enlivening the public environment in the Devetaki villages and make it more appealing for visitors and local residents alike; the funding will be strictly earmarked to buying necessary materials and the work needed will be voluntary. Additionally, two Integrated Regional Projects to upgrade trails, to develop and put up information boards or to produce and distribute promotion materials, will be realized so that the Devetaki Plateau becomes a ‘not-to-be-missed’ destination for family and individual tourism.
