The goal of this project is to provide strategic start-up partnership and support to the Bulgarian Food Bank to introduce the worldwide successfully proven effective social model of food banking in Bulgaria. This model offers a sustainable tool for minimizing food waste in the country, reducing hunger and mobilizing local resources and partnerships to support a growing number of people in need fostering active civic participation and philanthropy in all members of our society. The grant will provide the organization the substantial financial support needed at the beginning until it gains trust in society, enhances its capacity to solicit, collect and redistribute donated safe for consumption food, expands its network of partnering (feeding) organizations and becomes capable of attracting long-term partners to ensure its future operation.
