The objective of the project is to establish a Center for agricultural policy analysis (CAPA) at the Institute of Agricultural Economics (IAE) and develop a local capability for carrying out in depth analysis of Bulgarian agriculture based on the sophisticated econometric modeling approaches applied at the Food and Agricultural Policy Research Institute (FAPRI) at the University of Missouri. The Center is aimed at creating an analysis unit able to provide insights and analytical recommendations showing the impact of proposed policy changes before they are adopted with a view to ensure more reliable, transparent and informative policy making and improve the policy setting and business environment in which the private sector and industry operate.
