The Water Tower Fest aims at enlivening forgotten historical buildings and spots in the city through contemporary art events, happenings, concerts, exhibits and workshops. It is among the most recognizable contemporary art festivals in Bulgaria. It started eight years ago at the Water Tower in Lozenets, built in 1929 for water pressure for Sofia’s pipes, now out of use and dilapidated.
