The math team of the Mathematics High School in Varna is the first Bulgarian team to be invited to take part in the Harvard – MIT Mathematics Tournament (HMMT) in February 2014. The HMMT is a highly competitive annual mathematics competition for high schools students jointly run by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Harvard University. Only a very limited number of international school teams are invited to take part, which makes the Varna math team’s invitation particularly notable. A total of 800 students with excellent track record in math competitions from all over the world take part in the tournament.
