The project will promote the JUMP Math (Junior Undiscovered Math Prodigies) method for teaching math in Bulgaria. JUMP Math was developed in Canada to improve student learning by increasing student confidence and enthusiasm for math through guided discovery. Based on positive results and evidence from other countries and on the initial results from the pilot phase in Bulgaria, the Institute of Progressive Education will expand the JUMP Math program in Bulgaria to reach 796 teachers and 15,920 students over the course of three academic years. The program will consist of three main components: providing extensive training and support to teachers; developing the training resources for students from the 1st to the 7th grades; and conducting a comparative analysis between the JUMP Math method and the mainstream teaching methods.
