Gabrovo has deeply rooted traditions in jazz since 1935 when the first jazz orchestra in Bulgaria was founded. ABF will support the 1-st edition of the Yesterday-Today-Tomorrow Jazz Fest in Gabrovo. The project plans a number of jazz-related events in June, July and August. In addition to performances of established Bulgarian musicians, the festival will show jazz-related movies, photo-exhibits, workshops. The June events will feature the traditions and the past, including a retrospective exhibit about Swing Dixie Gabrovo. Bands from Gabrovo and the region will perform Dixie and swing music on an open stage on the central square of town. July will present established Bulgarian bands from today and August will show the rising jazz stars of tomorrow from the Music Schools around the country.
